Greetings Podvocates! (Holy moley, Batman; did I just name our fans?)
I figured since there isn’t a show this week I’d write up a quick post to cover a few things that popped up since our last episode.
Transformers Humble Bundle 2
More than $150,000 was raised for the Hasbro Children’s Fund, which is phenomenal! And everyone who participated got some really good comics in the process so this is a good thing all around. To anyone out there who donated on my account, thank you so much and enjoy the books! Oh, and hit me up and tell me what you think of them. I could talk “More Than Meets the Eye” all day long.
Pocket Casts Update
As I have mentioned on here and on the show previously, my podcatcher of choice is by far Pocket Casts. It simply leaves the competition in the dust. The Android version also just received a huge update and it is beautiful. It is still the best $4.99 I have spent on my phone and I cannot recommend it enough. Especially for listening to us!
Another Transformers Sale?
You didn’t really think you’d get away without me talking about Transformers comics again, did you? This time it’s a sale on Comixology. Running through 3/17, it includes the first trade of both “More Than Meets the Eye” and “Robots in Disguise” like the the Humble Bundle, but also has other trades from the IDW line. My personal recommendation is “Last Stand of the Wreckers”, especially if you picked up MTMTE in the previous bundle. There are a number of elements that come in to play later on in MTMTE, and it goes a long way in demonstrating just how much of a terror Overlord is. (Don’t worry if that name doesn’t sound familiar right now, it will soon enough.) You’ll also enjoy “All Hail Megatron” if you really want that old Generation 1 feel and the Livio Ramondelli art in both “Autocracy” and “Monstrocity” is really great.
And finally, since David and I were off this week, you should check out some of the other shows on our network. This week there were new episodes Dadstractions, Longbox Heroes, and The Fresher and Parlance Show.
Until next time, Podvocates! (Man, I love that I came up with that.)
